Šešula Bay (Šolta)

43° 23.5′ N · 16° 12.6′ E

A long, narrow pine-fringed inlet half a mile south of Maslinica. Two family konobas run buoys for dinner guests, and it is a short walk to the village.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Uvala Šešula'. Deep at the mouth (about 47 m), shoaling to about 7 m at the north-east end over mud and seagrass, where the buoys are. If anchoring, drop in about 8 m mid-bay. Sheltered from all winds except westerlies, which blow straight in; strong tramontana also makes it uncomfortable. Konoba Šešula and Šišmiš lay buoys for guests who book a table; pick up the buoy and take a line ashore so you do not swing. Very busy in high season; book ahead. A small dive centre and a fish farm are in the inlet. Supermarket and marina in Maslinica, a short coastal walk away.
