Pomena Harbour

42° 47.3′ N · 17° 20.6′ E

A small resort village at Mljet's north-west tip, inside the national park, with a hotel, restaurant quays and a forest trail to the lakes. It is the closest yacht stop to Malo jezero.

Practical

Coordinate is the bay (OSM 'Uvala Pomena'). Moor stern-to on the restaurant lines along the east side, free if you dine there; booking is advised in summer. Depth 1.5–3.5 m at the quays. Avoid the hotel quay, which excursion boats use. The park allows anchoring in Lokva bay and through Kulijer and Konštar towards Pomeštak islet (see 'Lokva Bay'). Bura sends an uncomfortable swell in, especially by the hotel quay; strong E and SW winds are the ones to avoid. 2026 Mljet National Park vessel ticket, per boat per day (valid until noon the next day), bought in the park / on the park webshop: Jun–Sep 7–10.99 m €70 / €60, 11–17.99 m €100 / €90, 18–24.99 m €160 / €150; Oct–May half that or less (e.g. 11–17.99 m €50 / €40). The vessel ticket does not include the lakes: each person also needs a visitor ticket (adults €30 Jun–Sep, €20 rest of year; children 8–18 €8 / €5; under 7 free). Water and power on restaurant berths; small shop; no fuel.
