Dolphin Bay (Laguna Bocatorito)

9° 13.4′ N · 82° 14.2′ W

A mangrove-ringed lagoon off Isla Cristóbal's east side with a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins — mothers and calves often surface right beside the boat.

Practical

Position is the GeoNames bay (also called Laguna Bocatorito / Laguna Porras). Resident dolphin population; most island tours stop here (Wikivoyage). Calm water and minimal boat traffic outside tour hours (noforeignland). Motor slowly and don't chase or encircle the dolphins. Jellyfish at times. Entrance via Canal Bocatorito from the north-east.
