Caracasbaai - Not a Designated Anchorage (Curaçao)
12° 4.3′ N · 68° 52.0′ W
Caracas Bay lies right beside the Spanish Water entrance and looks tempting, but it is not one of the anchorages for which Curaçao's Harbour Master issues permits.
Practical
In August 2025 the Curaçao Ports Authority told Noonsite that only six areas are designated anchorages with Harbour Master permits: Spanish Water lagoon (max 90 days) and Fuik Baai, Santa Martha, Santa Cruz, Piscadera Baai and Klein Curaçao (max 3 nights each). Caracasbaai is not on the list, so anchor in Spanish Water and visit the bay's beach, Tugboat wreck and restaurants by dinghy in settled weather or on foot. The bay is also a cruise and commercial pier area. The Coast Guard patrols and may ask for your clearance and anchoring permit (Virgintino). Coordinate: OpenStreetMap bay node.
