Spanish Wells north-shore beach walk
25° 33.0′ N · 76° 46.3′ W
A long barefoot walk west along Spanish Wells' north shore beach, over the shallow sand flats toward Russell Island, with the Devil's Backbone reef line offshore.
Practical
Coordinate from the Eleuthera Map site marker 'Spanish Wells Beach' near the west end of St. George's Cay; the walk runs east toward town and west to the Russell Island bridge (Russell Island Beach is mapped further west at 25.5445, -76.8095). The water is so shallow that you can walk 15 minutes straight out before it reaches your knees (Eleuthera Map), so at low tide it becomes a sandbar walk. Easy access from the Yacht Haven (ActiveCaptain reviewers); a 2018 reviewer recommends walking up toward the beach after dinner for soft-serve ice cream. No shade: go early or late.
Best for
Morning walk from the Yacht Haven
