South Bight ocean blue holes

24° 12.0′ N · 77° 37.5′ W · approximate

The tidal ocean blue holes along South Bight, between Mangrove Cay and South Andros, full of fish and lobster.

Practical

Position approximate: placed at the ActiveCaptain South Bight anchorage marker; the individual holes are not charted in the sources used. A 2013 ActiveCaptain review calls them interesting, with lots of fish and lobster, but with poorer visibility than the Middle Bight holes. Strong tidal current runs through the bight: snorkel at slack water and keep a dinghy tender on station. Food, fuel and propane are across at Driggs Hill.

Best for

Snorkelling from the South Bight anchorage
