Driggs Hill service station (fuel)

24° 12.6′ N · 77° 36.0′ W · approximate

The service station beside the Driggs Hill government basin, the fuel stop for boats in South Bight, Lisbon Creek and the south end of Andros.

Practical

Position approximate: OpenStreetMap's Driggs Hill settlement point beside the basin, where ActiveCaptain places the station; its own position is not mapped. ActiveCaptain (2013): 'Food, fuel and propane can be obtained in Driggs Hill; inquire at the Rusty Barge Bar or at the service station next to the government basin.' Fuel by jerry can or alongside the rough basin wall (15 to 20 ft, slight swell, mail boats arrive at all hours, freighters use the southwest wall). An abandoned wooden fuel dock on the west side of the basin is usable only as a dinghy tie-up. Water: not confirmed in the sources used; ask at the station or the Rusty Barge. Propane: bottle collected in the morning and returned filled in the afternoon.
