Beach· Eleuthera· Bahamas — Eleuthera, Andros & the Out Islands
French Leave Beach (Atlantic side)
25° 12.4′ N · 76° 14.2′ W
A long pink-sand Atlantic beach just over the ridge from Governor's Harbour, the reason cruisers walk across the island from the anchorage.
Practical
Position from the Eleuthera Map 'French Leave Snorkel / French Leave Beach' marker; reefs lie close to shore for easy snorkelling. The Old Club Med Beach continues south-east and Nix Cay snorkel lies at the south end. Described as a pink-sand beach just outside Governor's Harbour (My Out Islands); cruisers walk 'over the hill to ocean side and gorgeous pink sand beach' from the anchorage (ActiveCaptain, 2018). Atlantic surf and reef: swim only in calm conditions. Tippy's beach bar is a little further south on Banks Road.
Best for
