Paradise Island Anchorage (The Cloister)

25° 4.7′ N · 77° 18.7′ W

A strip of water along the Paradise Island shore below the reconstructed 14th-century French Cloister, between the beach and the harbour thoroughfare. It gives some north-wind shelter but is a last-resort spot.

Practical

Waterway Guide position N 25°04.720' W 077°18.680'; depths 6-7 ft. Poor holding. You can tuck in close to shore for northerly protection, but it is exposed east and west, to strong current and to constant traffic wake. No dinghy landing. Call Nassau Harbour Control on VHF 16.

Best for

Emergency northerly shelter only
