ActiveCaptain position (Customs Dock). Call Harbour Control on VHF 16 before entering the western entrance and before approaching the customs dock. Clearance can also be done at any Nassau Harbour marina, at Atlantis and Hurricane Hole on Paradise Island, at Lyford Cay, Albany, Palm Cay and Legendary Marina (on-site office at Hurricane Hole, Palm Cay and Legendary; officers on call at most others). Customs typically works 9 am to 5 pm; after-hours arrivals may wait to the next day or pay overtime, usually $50/hour (Association of Bahamas Marinas). File Click2Clear before arrival; fly the Q flag; only the captain goes ashore. A 2022 cruiser cleared out on foot at the cruise-ship customs after tying the dinghy behind the food truck next to the customs pier, with a $30 fee (verify locally); Noonsite reported (2021) that clearing out with Nassau Harbour Customs had been difficult and suggested using a marina, with no charge for clearing out.
