Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MHH)

26° 30.7′ N · 77° 5.0′ W

Marsh Harbour's international airport (formerly Marsh Harbour International, renamed in 2016), the main air gateway for central Abaco and the place most crew changes happen. Direct flights link it to Miami, Atlanta, West Palm Beach, Nassau and Freeport.

Practical

Coordinate is Wikipedia's (OpenStreetMap maps the airport area at 26.5114, -77.0845). Codes MHH / MYAM; one runway 09/27, 6,100 ft, elevation 6 ft. Wikipedia lists American Eagle (Miami, plus seasonal Charlotte), Bahamasair (Nassau, West Palm Beach), Delta Connection (Atlanta), Flamingo Air (Freeport) and WesternAir (Nassau); schedules change, so check the airlines. The terminal opened in May 2014 with restaurants, shops and parking; the airport was flooded and badly damaged by Hurricane Dorian in September 2019. Bahamas Customs keeps an airport office (242-367-2026, marshharbourairport@bahamas.gov.bs), so private aircraft clear in here. Getting to the boats: taxis run from the airport to the marinas and to Albury's Ferry Dock for Hope Town and Man-O-War (Wikivoyage), and Rental Wheels delivers rental cars to the arrivals area, or to the gate at the Cherokee FBO for private flights, for a $15 airport fee (year not stated, verify locally).
