Cable Beach Anchorage
25° 4.8′ N · 77° 23.2′ W
An anchorage off the Cable Beach hotel strip west of Nassau, with good protection from the prevailing easterlies and a hotel beach bar ashore.
Practical
ActiveCaptain position. Good holding in sand; approach from the north in good visibility (a reef and some shoaling). A 2017 reviewer warns the place is aptly named: thick cables lie on the seabed, so set carefully. Land at the large hotel's dock (allowed per ActiveCaptain) or on the beach by the public park; taxis on West Bay Street. Open to the north.
Best for
Easterly-wind stop west of town
Season
Settled; avoid northers
