The Shoe Tree and Sound-side Beaches
23° 32.2′ N · 75° 46.3′ W
Cross to the wild Exuma Sound side of Stocking Island and you find a tree hung with hundreds of cruisers' flip-flops, each signed with a boat name — plus empty Atlantic-facing beaches where starfish and sea glass wash up.
Practical
Reached on foot from Monument or Hamburger Beach via marked trails. Ocean side has real surf and undertow, so swim with care. Bring a marker and a spare flip-flop to add your boat.
