Kiteboarding and wing foiling — March conditions

23° 31.4′ N · 75° 45.4′ W

March is arguably the best kiting month in the Exumas: trades blow 15-25kt from E/SE with fewer crowds than the Christmas period.

Practical

SEASON: trades Nov-May, 15-25kt E/SE, peak Dec-Mar. SPOTS: Elizabeth Harbour / Stocking Island — protected but busy with anchored boats, so ride well clear of the fleet. Cocoplum Beach — beginner-friendly, calm and shallow. Moriah Harbour Cay — butter-flat waist-deep water on the west side, the standout flatwater spot, but most of the good bits need a dinghy. Emerald Bay on the east side gets ocean swell for wave riding. RULES: Moriah Harbour is a national park with a 3-knot no-wake zone over the flats and mandatory holding tank use. No kite school operates on Stocking Island itself, and NO verified wing-foil rental or school anywhere in the Exumas — bring your own gear.
