Hoopers Bay Sea Turtles
23° 31.8′ N · 75° 48.3′ W
A shallow, seagrass-floored bay on the north shore of Great Exuma where green turtles graze close in and can be watched — sometimes swum with — straight off the beach.
Practical
Shore access from Queen's Highway north of George Town. Do not chase, touch or feed them; turtles are protected in the Bahamas. Best on a calm morning at higher water. Free.
Best for
Reliable turtle sightings without a boat trip
