12° 1.2′ N · 61° 48.0′ W
Purple Rain is a gentle drift along a slope off the south-west tip of Grenada, named for the clouds of purple creole wrasse that pour over it. Barrel sponges, rays, turtles and barracuda are common.
Practical
Position is the WikiBubbles dive-directory mark, west of Point Salines. Depth 20–80 ft (6–25 m) per Eco Dive; WikiBubbles averages 15 m, maximum 25 m. Usually done as a drift in about 2 knots of current (Eco Dive), so it is a boat-only dive with a guide. The MV Anina wreck (sunk 2018) lies between Kahonee and Purple Rain reefs.
