Pigeon Point Beach
11° 10.0′ N · 60° 50.3′ W
Tobago's postcard beach: a long white-sand spit with a thatch-roofed jetty, calm aquamarine water and a view straight over Buccoo Reef. It is run as Pigeon Point Heritage Park by the Tobago House of Assembly.
Practical
Pigeon Point is the only beach on Tobago that charges entry (amount not given by Rough Guides; verify locally). Facilities: shaded gazebos, showers and bathrooms, beach-chair rentals, bars at each end (popular at sunset), roti and snacks, and a Creole lunch restaurant at the Bon Accord end. Busy on cruise-ship days. Landing by dinghy is not an option: the water off the point is part of the Buccoo Reef restricted area, where vessels and dinghies need the Minister's permission (Noonsite). Walk or taxi from Store Bay instead (Pigeon Point Road leaves Milford Road about 200 m north of the Store Bay turn). Jet skis were barred from Pigeon Point Heritage Park by an urgent High Court injunction in April 2026 (reported April 24, 2026), pending further orders. Rough Guides warns of toxic manchineel trees along this coast (marked with a white ring of paint); do not shelter under them.
