No Man's Land and Bon Accord Lagoon
11° 10.1′ N · 60° 49.7′ W
A deserted sandy spit on the far side of Buccoo Reef's lagoon, edged by the Bon Accord mangroves: the classic barbecue stop on reef boat tours.
Practical
Position is the Bon Accord Lagoon (OpenStreetMap). Reached on a Buccoo Reef boat tour that includes a barbecue; the lagoon is shallow and inside the Buccoo Reef restricted area, so do not take a dinghy in without a permit. The lagoon is a fish nursery with seagrass beds; its water quality is affected by runoff from a nearby sewage-treatment plant (Rough Guides).
Best for
Beach barbecue on a reef-tour day
