Mount Healthy National Park (Windmill)

18° 26.7′ N · 64° 38.4′ W

The ruined 18th-century stone windmill above Brewers Bay, the only one of its kind left in the BVI, which ground cane from a 250-acre plantation on the steep north-shore slopes.

Practical

Position from Wikipedia (Mount Healthy windmill). National Parks Trust: the windmill was part of a 250-acre plantation with terraced cane fields; across the road are the ruins of an animal mill, boiling house, distillery, hospital and living quarters. Wikipedia notes it supplied the sugar works and rum distillery at Brewers Bay. A short stop on Ridge Road / Mount Healthy Drive by taxi or rental car, combined with Brewers Bay; no trail details or fees are published, so contact the Trust (1 284 393 9284, bvinpt@bvinpt.org).
