Christiansted Boardwalk & Dinghy Landing

17° 44.8′ N · 64° 42.3′ W · approximate

A wooden waterfront promenade lined with restaurants, bars, dive and Buck Island tour boats, running from Fort Christiansvaern west along the harbor. Cruisers land the dinghy here and are in town in a minute.

Practical

Position approximate, set between the GoToStCroix listing positions for Rum Runners, Brew STX and Shupe's, which all front the boardwalk. Noonsite (April 2025): dinghies may be docked along the boardwalk, and there is a public pier among the small docks; lift and lock the outboard and the dinghy (thefts reported December 2023). The Kings Wharf section by the fort is National Park Service property: docking a vessel there is prohibited and the NPS dock is closed to non-NPS boats (Superintendent's Compendium). The Protestant Cay ferry leaves from the end of the boardwalk near the fort. Christiansted custom and town ordinance ask that you wear a shirt or cover-up in town, not just a swimsuit (NPS brochure). Art Thursday, Jump Up and the Christmas boat parade all play out along this waterfront.
