Wat Chalong

Phuket's largest and most important Buddhist temple, established around 1837, with the 60 m Phra Mahathat Chedi (1991-2001), said to enshrine a fragment of the Buddha's bone from Sri Lanka. It is 10 minutes inland from the Chalong anchorage.

Dress modestly. Near Chalong Circle, about 9 km south of Phuket Town (Phuket 101).
