Sunrise Beach Anchorage, Koh Lipe
6° 29.3′ N · 99° 18.7′ E · approximate
The east-coast anchorage off Sunrise Beach (Hat Chao Ley), the long sand strip of Lipe's Urak Lawoi village, tucked between Lipe and its two small eastern islets, Koh Kra and Koh Usen.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot: anchor off Sunrise Beach between the two islands east of Koh Lipe in 15-20 m. Position is approximate, derived as the water between Koh Kra and Koh Usen off Sunrise Beach using OpenStreetMap island and beach outlines; the Pilot gives no waypoint, so sound in. Dive shops (Castaway, Adang Sea Divers, Forra) and water taxis to Koh Adang (100 THB per person from Sunrise Beach, per Wikivoyage) operate from the beach. A low-season speedboat landing is mapped at the north end of Sunrise Beach. Open to the east, so best in the SW monsoon or settled NE days.
Best for
Easy access to Sunrise Beach, dive shops and Adang water taxis
