Koh Bulon Le East Anchorage

6° 49.7′ N · 99° 32.7′ E

Secure holding on sand off Bulon Le's east-coast beaches, a laid-back island of small resorts, jungle trails and hidden bays in Mu Ko Phetra National Park.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot (6°49.734N 99°32.663E): anchor in 6 m on sand, secure holding; little shelter in the NE monsoon. Provisions from the resorts ashore and the National Park campground, which has an all-tide beach; many trails lead to secluded bays. OpenStreetMap marks an isolated-danger buoy (flashing) at 6.84262, 99.54201 north of the anchorage: identify it before approaching. A snorkel spot is mapped about 200 m parallel to the main beach, and a speedboat pick-up point at 6.83021, 99.54314. Bulon Le is in Mu Ko Phetra National Park (Wikipedia), not Tarutao.

Best for

Relaxed island stop between Lanta and Tarutao

Season

Best in SW-season lulls or settled NE weather; little NE shelter
