North Point (Mahé)
4° 33.6′ S · 55° 26.4′ E
The northern tip of Mahé, where the North Coast Road runs past Anse Machabée and the granite drops into water swept by current and surge. Every boat sailing between Victoria and Beau Vallon rounds it.
Practical
Coordinate is the northernmost point of the OSM coastline. Big Blue Divers lists 'North Point Rocks' (0-15 m, granite with current) and L'Ilot (granite with surge and current) here. The Moorings' two-week SE-season route names North Point as a stop on the final leg back to Eden Island. Give the rocks and islet a good offing; see the North Point rounding passage.
Best for
Rounding mark between Victoria and the west coast
