Skagit Island Marine State Park (Skagit Bay)

48° 25.0′ N · 122° 34.9′ W · approximate

A small island just east of Deception Pass with two buoys on its north-west side, a trail and a primitive camp site. It makes a handy spot to wait for slack on the east side of the pass.

Practical

Position is approximate, off the north-west side where the two buoys are. Vault toilet and picnic tables; no water, no garbage service. One primitive site and one Cascadia Marine Trail site (paddlers only). Burn ban level 2 posted August 2, 2026. Similk Bay to the north is full of submerged piles and unsafe to navigate (Coast Pilot). State Parks moorage (2025 rates, still posted in 2026): buoys $23 a night, docks $1 per foot ($23 minimum), charged from 1 pm to 8 am all year. Self-register and pay on arrival, rafted boats included; phone registration is posted at the buoys. An annual State Parks moorage permit ($7 per foot, $80 minimum) covers docks and buoys.
