Virgin Island Sandbar (Panglao)
9° 33.4′ N · 123° 43.0′ E
A crescent of white sand off Panglao's west coast that rises out of the sea at low tide next to Pungtud islet, a staple of every Panglao island-hopping tour.
Practical
Shoal position from OpenStreetMap (Nominatim 'Virgin Island, Panglao'); Pungtud islet is at 9.5583N 123.7225E. Wikivoyage lists it west of Panglao Town. The sandbar emerges at low tide, so time the visit to low water (philippinedives.com, 2026); it is surrounded by shallows, so visit by dinghy from a boat anchored in deeper water off to the west or south and watch the tide - check NAMRIA tide predictions. Half-day island-hopping tours including Virgin Island and Pamilacan started at PHP 1,200-2,000 (philippinedives.com, 2026).
Best for
A low-tide sandbar swim and photo stop
