The commercial anchorage off Surigao's wharves at the tip of Mindanao - busy, noisy and NE-exposed, but where you clear in or out of the Philippines for this region.
Practical
Noonsite position off the wharf 09 46.72N 125 30E (2016). OCC forum (Splinters, July 2000): anchor in the bay south of the wharves near the Coast Guard and Customs offices, mud 5-10 m; bow or stern-to the wharf wherever there's room; very busy with local traffic. Noonsite (2025): anchorage exposed to the NE, other options nearby once formalities are done. Hacking Family: in the NE season the coast off Surigao is a lee shore - they anchored at Mabua instead and planned to bus in. Water from the Coast Guard or shops; fuel by can.
