Subic Bay Regattas

14° 49.3′ N · 120° 16.3′ E · approximate

Subic is the home of Philippine yacht racing, from holiday regattas and the Independence Day Regatta to the BPI Subic Regatta that decides the national offshore series. The bay brews its own shifty afternoon sea breezes, often up to 20 knots on flat water.

Practical

Coordinates approximate: plotted at the Lighthouse Marina Resort, the race host; courses run in the open bay. The BPI Subic Regatta was the deciding final leg of the BPI Private Wealth Signature Yacht Race Series 2025, after Corregidor, Busuanga and the Boracay 200, with IRC, Cruising and Ocean Multihull classes. Vasco's Independence Day Regatta ran 12-13 June 2026, with a coastal cleanup, learn-to-sail and a maritime-heritage programme. The club also lists a Subic Bay to Boracay Race. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's biennial China Sea Race (about 565 NM from Hong Kong) finishes in Subic Bay. Exact dates change each year; check the Subic Sailing calendar.
