Small La Laguna Reef Snorkel
13° 31.5′ N · 120° 58.2′ E · approximate
The rocky, coral-studded shallows off Small La Laguna, the dive-resort cove just west of Sabang - fish life is good right off the beach, though the bottom is more rubble than garden.
Practical
Position approx: just off OSM Small La Laguna Beach (13.52363N 120.97059E) and the Redsun Dive Resort (13.52404N 120.97013E). PGYC notes Small La Laguna has areas of rocks and broken corals in the shallows, so it is not the best swimming beach - wear booties for entry and float over the rubble to the reef edge. PGYC names snorkelling off La Laguna, Long Beach and Coco Beach as among the best outside the inner bays. Heavy dive-boat traffic from the resorts: use a surface marker. Reached by dinghy or along the beach path from Sabang.
Best for
Quick reef snorkel combined with lunch at El Galleon
Season
Nov-May; choppy in strong NE monsoon
