Puerto Princesa Repairs and Haul-out Options

9° 43.7′ N · 118° 44.7′ E

There is no yacht boatyard or travel-lift in Puerto Princesa; plan major haul-outs elsewhere, but the town's machine and engineering shops are good at fabricating and repairing parts, and a public slipway serves local boats.

Practical

Position is a slipway on L. Rabang Road, Bagong Sikat, on the city's south waterfront (OpenStreetMap node 8344087556); its capacity and suitability for a keelboat are not documented: inspect and ask locally. Noonsite's Puerto Princesa Boatyards section lists no yard (page updated October 2024). Marine supplies: specialist boat parts are generally not obtainable, but local engineering shops are excellent at fabricating or repairing parts (Noonsite). Engines and metalwork: Hammerhead's machine shop (sign reads 'Silvia') on the road leading to the New Market (San Jose) handles small metalwork up to complete engine overhauls and is recommended by cruisers; Abanico Yacht Club can find a tricycle driver who knows it (Noonsite listing, March 2019). Hardware: Citi Hardware near Robinsons. Order specialist parts from Manila or abroad well ahead.

Best for

Engine, metalwork and fabrication jobs; no yacht haul-out
