Puerto Princesa Port of Entry (Customs, Immigration, Quarantine)

9° 44.6′ N · 118° 43.8′ E

Puerto Princesa is Palawan's official port of entry, and Noonsite calls it the best place to enter or leave the Philippines if you are coming from the south, because fees are sensible. Clearance is a three-office tricycle tour of the city.

Practical

Coordinates mark the Puerto Princesa Port Management Office (PPA) on the city waterfront (OpenStreetMap); the clearance offices are spread around town. Order reported by cruisers clearing out in October 2024: (1) Quarantine, in a tiny building off Rizal Avenue next to the airport (plus code PQQ3+RRX), free, 10-15 minutes; (2) Immigration, on the 2nd floor of Robinsons Place mall, where only the skipper needs to go, with all passports (about a 30-minute wait); (3) Customs, opposite Pilot Elementary School just off Manalo Street in an unmarked house (tricycle drivers know it), phone +63 48 433 2118. Customs now boards every vessel, so contact them in advance; one crew anchored in Ulugan Bay had an officer ride out with them to inspect. Reported outward clearance cost in October 2024: PHP 2,500 plus the officer's transport. Officials are reported to be polite and helpful. Arrive on a weekday; see the area file for Notice of Arrival, eTravel and visa rules.
