Ponson Island

10° 46.3′ N · 124° 31.9′ E

The remote north-east island of the Camotes group (municipality of Pilar), with no resorts or tourist development - quiet villages, mangroves and clear water close to Leyte.

Practical

Solita (2012) describes it as more remote with no resorts. About 10.6 km long; 4 km NE of Poro across the Kawit Strait, and about 7 km from southern Leyte. Pilar port has ferries to Ormoc. No anchorage details verified - approach with satellite imagery and good light.
