Poro Town Anchorage (Camotes)
10° 37.8′ N · 124° 23.7′ E
An anchorage tucked close to the fringing reef off Poro, the Camotes' main ferry port, with a friendly small town, market and the only reliable ATM in the islands.
Practical
Arnak (Jan 2013): 10°37.79'N 124°23.65'E close to the fringing reef, protected from swell. Hacking Family anchored at 10°37.65'N 124°24.20'E in 30 ft (9 m) and found coral rubble, not sand, and a bumpy night when the wind wrapped round from the east; they suggest the next bay east near 10°37.63'N 124°24.82'E may have a better bottom. Settled weather only. Land the dinghy by the ferry ramps (leave room for ferries). Development Bank near Poro market has a 24-hour Visa-only ATM; LBC near the port. OceanJet fast ferries run to Cebu City from Poro port.
