A small geothermal hot spring in the forest at the foot of limestone cliffs in Barotuan, north of El Nido town - a quiet soak far from the island-hopping crowds.

Position: OpenStreetMap spring node 206257351 'Makinit Hot Springs' (El Nido-New Ibajay Road, Purok B, Barotuan). Reached by tricycle from town plus a short walk; listing gives 8 am-5 pm, entry free or a small fee - verify locally. Not the same as the better-known Maquinit Hot Spring in Coron. A 2022 Philippine Journal of Science paper reported anomalously high background radioactivity at the spring (preliminary assessment) - keep soaks short. Go early or late in the day.
