Lagen Island Southeast Anchorage

11° 4.5′ N · 119° 24.5′ E · approximate

An anchorage tucked off the southeast corner of Lagen Island, praised by cruisers as one of the prettiest in the south of Bacuit Bay.

Practical

Approx: plotted off Lagen's southeast tip from the OpenStreetMap island outline (way 4247215), checked in the water about 125 m off the coast. Speedwell Adventures called the southeast corner of Lagen 'a beautiful anchorage' but gave no depth - sound in and anchor on sand clear of coral. Exposure to the northeast monsoon is likely here on the eastern side; the west cove is the alternative. Day anchoring for snorkelling is noted by Southeast Asia Pilot. Tour B also stops at a small sandbar in front of Lagen (listed on Google Maps as 'LZ Sandbar').

Best for

Pretty day or settled-weather overnight anchorage
