Cacnipa Island Anchorage (Port Barton)

10° 29.0′ N · 119° 4.5′ E · approximate

An anchorage off the south shore of Cacnipa, the outermost big island of the Port Barton group, where two small island resorts (Coconut Garden and Paradise Cove) sit on the beach and the Cacnipa lighthouse marks the north end.

Practical

Position approximate: about 180 m south of the island's mapped south shore near the Coconut Garden resort (OpenStreetMap way 4252721, node 703147690), checked as water against the OSM coastline. No published depths or holding: approach slowly in good light. About 7 nm west-northwest of Port Barton village by straight line. The south side gives a lee from northerly swell but is open to the southwest monsoon. The island resorts (Coconut Garden Island Resort, also listed by Wikivoyage, and Paradise Cove Island Resort, both mapped in OpenStreetMap) may welcome yachties for a meal; ask before landing. Cacnipa Lighthouse (major light, OpenStreetMap) stands on the north side. Watch for fishing nets and pots (SEAP).
