Black Forest (Balicasag)
9° 30.9′ N · 123° 41.3′ E
Balicasag's signature dive: a sandy plateau at about 28 m where whitetip sharks rest, a steep slope down to black-coral stands at 35-45 m, and the bigeye-trevally tornado that forms on incoming tides.
Practical
OpenStreetMap dive-site position. 18-45 m, Advanced Open Water; currents mild to challenging, so drift experience is recommended and slack tide is best (philippinedives.com, 2026). Booked through Panglao dive centres under the Balicasag permit system (see Balicasag Island Marine Sanctuary).
Best for
Big-school action for advanced divers
