Zihuatanejo Fishermen's Beach Dinghy Landing

17° 38.2′ N · 101° 33.5′ W

The cruisers' landing on Playa Principal beside the municipal pier, where pangas line the beach and fishermen mend nets under the palms.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap outline of the Muelle Municipal. Land between the municipal dock and the end of the panga line; locals often help carry the dinghy and expect a small tip (10 MXN in and 10 MXN out in 2017). Garbage bins are on the walkway out from the municipal pier. Water taxis to Las Gatas leave from the pier. In surge, use the pier steps instead of the beach. Sailfest cruiser page (current): dinghy valets Jesus and Mateo help land and launch at Playa Principal; a 20 MXN tip each way is suggested. Showers are at the shore end of the pier.
