Santiago, the local town behind the Santiago peninsula, has a big enclosed market for produce, fish and household goods plus a Saturday tianguis — and taco stands for dinner.

Position: Plaza Mercado de Santiago (OpenStreetMap); the tianguis grounds are about 350 m south. Fruit, vegetable, meat and seafood shops line the nearby streets. The Saturday market is partly tourist crafts, but locals shop the clothing stalls (2011). Closest town to both the La Boquita and Las Hadas anchorages by bus or taxi.
