Santa Rosa Wall (Cozumel)

20° 23.2′ N · 87° 1.5′ W · approximate

A dramatic vertical wall of ledges, overhangs, caves and swim-throughs hung with giant sponges, black coral and sea fans, swept by Cozumel's northbound current.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate and indicative only: no published position was found. Moved (October 2026) to sit between San Francisco and Paso del Cedral, the order given by Spanish Wikipedia's site list, offshore of the Occidental Allegro resort (Wikivoyage 20.38256, -87.01897); the earlier placement south of Paso del Cedral contradicted that order. Confirm the drop point with your dive operator. Wall top at about 50-60 ft, dropping to 130 ft and beyond (PADI 2022, SSI); Island Life Mexico (2026) notes a steady northward current carries you along the edge. Turtles, eagle rays, big grouper, occasional reef sharks. Experienced divers; deep certification recommended. National park rules apply.
