Guaymas Harbor Anchorage (Malecón)
27° 55.1′ N · 110° 53.0′ W · approximate
Anchoring off the Guaymas malecón inside the big, nearly landlocked working harbour, in front of the Fisherman statue and the Marina Turística — handy for clearing in, the municipal market and town errands.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: in the harbour about 300 m south of the malecón shoreline (OpenStreetMap coastline), clear of the Marina Turística docks (27.9231 N, 110.8850 W). The Log lists the north side of the harbour off the malecón, plus Las Playitas on the harbour's west side, as south-wind anchorages. The harbour is busy with shrimp boats, Navy vessels, pangas and commercial shipping — keep out of the fairways and show an anchor light. Call the port captain on VHF 16. No published depths in the sources — sound in; parts of the harbour are shallow (Noforeignland reviewers say haul-outs at the Marina Guaymas yard must be timed for high tide). Dinghy to the Marina Turística (dinghy dock, showers and security patrols per Noforeignland reviews).
