Cruise-In Week and Fiesta de Veleros (Barra de Navidad)

A week-long February festival in Barra de Navidad in which cruisers take locals and visitors out on afternoon music sails around the bay to raise money for local schools and the library — with an opening party, school work projects and a Flamingo Regatta sponsorship.

Position approximate: Barra waterfront. The 2025 edition (the eighth annual) ran February 8-16, with sails at 1,200 pesos per ticket including round-trip water taxi, two drinks, an appetizer and live music; tickets sold only in person in Barra and Melaque. The 2023 festival distributed about 92,000 pesos to each of six schools. Cruisers who volunteer their boats may get a special marina rate.
