Barra to Melaque Beach Walk

A flat, roughly 2-mile walk along the long sand beach that curves around Bahía de Navidad from the Barra malecón to Melaque's town beach, with the surf on one side and palapa restaurants along the way.
Practical
Position approximate: the midpoint of the beach between Barra de Navidad and Melaque. Start from the Barra malecón (Wikivoyage) and walk north-west; go early before the heat and the afternoon surf push you up the steep beach. Return on the local bus between Melaque and Barra (11 pesos per person in a 2023 report; verify locally) or by taxi. Provision at Super Hawaii or the Melaque tianguis on the way back.
