Barra de Navidad Port Captain

19° 12.5′ N · 104° 40.9′ W

The Capitanía de Puerto in Barra de Navidad, where boats arriving from other Mexican ports check in and out — and where you start even an international clearance if you are in Barra.

Practical

Position from OpenStreetMap. Noonsite (2019): there is a Port Captain in Barra and another in Manzanillo; begin with the local office, even for international check-in or check-out. International clearance from Barra takes a full day: Barra, then Manzanillo for immigration, Melaque for a bank receipt, and back to Barra to have the zarpe stamped. From the marina it is a water taxi plus a 1-1.5 mile walk (2023). Office hours: verify locally (typically weekday mornings).
