Ile Tintamarre Moorings

18° 7.0′ N · 62° 59.3′ W

Uninhabited 'Flat Island' 3 km off the northeast coast - free reserve moorings off the long white beach of Baie Blanche, with nesting tropicbirds and an old airstrip ashore.

Practical

Position is the charted anchorage mark off Baie Blanche (OpenStreetMap seamark data). Use the free reserve mooring balls; boats under 10 m are tolerated at anchor only in sand, keeping 20 m off the beach (decree 2020-142) - cruisers note anchoring is otherwise not allowed. NO overnight stay without the reserve's night-mooring authorization, requested at least three days ahead. Can be surprisingly rolly when swell wraps around the island; busy with tour boats by day. No mooring, landing or climbing in North Cove Bay or 'La Lagune' bay; no kitesurfing; no taking the clay/mud; no climbing or walking at the foot of the cliffs. No facilities and little shade.
