Freshwater Lake & Boeri Lake

Two high crater lakes in the clouds above Laudat - windswept Freshwater Lake at over 2,500 ft, source of the Roseau River, and a 45-minute walk on through elfin woodland to Boeri, the island's highest and deepest lake.
Practical
Coordinates: OpenStreetMap Fresh Water Lake. Forestry: Freshwater Lake is 2 miles east of Laudat (9 miles/50 minutes from Roseau), visitor centre and cafeteria, kayaks/boat rides by concessionaire (separate fee), do not swim unsupervised. Boeri Lake trail 1.3 km one way, moderate to difficult, guide highly recommended. Eco-site fee US$8 single / US$20 day / US$50 week (effective Dec 2025).
