French Antilles Online Clearance

16° 13.2′ N · 61° 31.8′ W · approximate

Since the prefectoral decision of 5 August 2024, yacht clearance for Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthelemy is an online declaration on the French government's demarches-simplifiees platform, producing a customs-stamped attestation de clearance.

Practical

Coordinate approx: set at the Bas-du-Fort clearance office (the busiest clearance point) because this is an online procedure. Who: the skipper of any pleasure boat (private or professional use) arriving or leaving by sea. The form takes about 8 minutes and can be done before arrival or departure; a paper form exists. The valid document is the attestation bearing the customs digital stamp (not the summary sent in a second email). Until neighbouring Caribbean states recognise the digital attestation, print it and have it endorsed at an approved clearance point (marina offices and agents on the 2026 customs list - Bas-du-Fort, Deshaies, Riviere-Sens, Saint-Francois, Les Saintes, Marie-Galante) before presenting it abroad. No internet? Do it at a clearance point. Each French territory needs its own clearance (clear out of Saint-Martin or St Barth before Guadeloupe). Some points charge a small printing fee (EUR5-10 in 2025 cruiser reports). Help: customs Antilles-Guyane, sgi-antilles-guyane@douane.finances.gouv.fr, +596 596 70 72 72, Mon-Fri 8am-noon.
