Ffryes Bay Anchorage
17° 2.9′ N · 61° 53.9′ W · approximate
A lunch-stop anchorage off the twin beaches of Ffryes and Darkwood (Picarts) on the west coast, just south of Jolly Harbour, with Dennis Cocktail Bar on the bluff above.
Practical
Pin is the OpenStreetMap named-bay node, off the beach. ABYMA: about 10 ft can be carried close to shore but the bay tends to shoal; an uncharted-at-surface rocky patch about 1,600 yards offshore of Picarts, due west of the sugar mill, covers about 350 sq ft and should be given a wide berth. Good for an afternoon lunch stop; Antigua Marine Guide says a couple of restaurants and bars are here, with Crab Hill Bay and Johnson's Point a little further south. Exposed to northerly swell.
Best for
A beach and lunch stop south of Jolly Harbour
Season
Settled easterlies; avoid in northerly swell
