Umekes Fish Market Bar & Grill (Kailua-Kona)
19° 38.6′ N · 155° 59.9′ W
Kona's best-known poke counter and fish market grew into a full bar and grill, serving award-winning ahi poke bowls, lau lau, kalua pork and fish tacos 'boat to bowl.' Locals and fishing crews both use it.
Practical
Address 74-5599 Pawai Place in the Old Industrial area, about a 10-minute walk up from the Kailua pier (near Kona Brewing); position from OpenStreetMap. Restaurant open daily 11am to 9pm and the fish market 11am to 6pm; full bar with happy hour daily 3pm to 5pm (Umekes website, October 2026). A second Umekes at the airport (73-200 Kupipi St) is handy on a crew-change day. Buy poke by the pound at the fish market for the boat cooler.
