Nanahoa Pinnacles Anchorage

20° 49.5′ N · 156° 59.6′ W · approximate

The Five Needles: a cluster of sea pinnacles up to 120 ft tall standing off Lanai's high western cliffs, with clear water and good small-craft anchorage in their lee.

Practical

Coast Pilot 10: about 2.3 miles north of Kaumalapau Harbor near the middle of the west side; the outermost rock is about 300 yards offshore and 32 ft high, the inner pinnacle 120 ft; they are hard to pick out from offshore against the cliffs; good anchorage for small craft can be had in the vicinity. Coordinate is approx, just offshore of the GNIS position of Nanahoa (20.8251, -156.9923). Trade-wind gusts sweep down the gulches and are felt a mile or more offshore. No landing facilities. Settled trade-wind conditions only; leave in west or kona winds.
